A Call To Love

Fallenin77
A true laboratory of experimentation and psychedelia. Starts with a Heavy Sludge tractor trampling everything with Death/Thrash footprint and striking weight of disturbing guitars and their Stoner Doom references, vocals dragged from desperate grunts. Highlights are "Seeds Of Hate", "Daredweller", "Innocence" (which is a remarkable journey). A work that cuts deep into the nerves! Favorite track: Wounds.

spyrostsal Massive sounding sludge record, with great production. A very modern sounding approach to a genre that often sounds stuck in the 90's. Great job.

Darknight Chorosia up the ante on riffage and they just ooze sludge metallic from this fantastic album. A Call To Love may just end up on my AOTY list, it's that good! I mean this stunning band just swagger in and out of killer progressive sound and the sound in every song is so freaking cool. Favorite track: Daredweller.

Disorder to follow Abandon the wallow Herding the wailers Through foyers of failure Breastfed with sorrow Aching tomorrows Revere the burials Live long mysteria Rise Respect Demise Retrospect Distracted by sunlight We gave up the win fight Blurring the frontlines To worship the fought lives Torment of ages A beauty that rages Luring the flesh, soul To dig out your sinkhole Reprise Reprise We walk away from shores To see ourselves The other side Realize how small we are In days we plead Death of all
2.
You’ve betrayed The scars inside You inflamed A thousand lies You take what’s Not yours to own Inflicted Your lies grow old And now you see It’s all downhill From here You play roles The scenes reprise A victim Or beast disguised You feel safe In place obscure All is dirt Your lies so pure Who’s to blame And who’s to save You have laid Seeds of hate And now you see It’s all downhill From here
3.
Daredweller 07:49
The vision is sprawling From the broken mind The children are crawling Shores of Innsmouth live on Shadowed city lives again The steeples have fallen Along the curse of rotten coast The unwanted visitors Are the ones to be suffering the most Cursed ones live where once they bled Shadowed city lives again Burn it down, disfigure Rake it clear, rigored Ashes dry rivers Reign of pain triggered
4.
Dune Messiah 03:24
5.
Innocence 12:29
I remember The time when there was no Innocence I remember The pride we took in our Ignorance You shine so bright You reek of light Yourself divine You breed of slime I surrender The skies, leaves, lakes and ground For nothing Nothing No man No thing No man You shine so bright You reek of light Your self-divine You breed of slime
6.
Hope County 04:00
Walk away Sky so grey A broken day Wrongs turn right A shut off light An endless fight
7.
Wounds 07:42
Mud, dirt, sludge, and water Flooded drowning in this order Once bright now starless In twilight we progress They’re coming to shape you They’re eager to take you So tear me Rip me Come find me And bite me You servant You lizard Come on and read me Like a book Forever open wide Lock doors, lay down Washed clean, no frown Spit and make the rivers flow Sit back and watch the show So tear me Rip me down Come find me And bite me You servant You lizard Come on and read me Like a book Forever open wide Open again My wounds your salt Disdain

Black nights in plain sights What's yet to come should no one know Infanticide justified Blessing reasons overblow Sudden fright familiar site Once again we're down that road Off we go Hundreds of winters of snowless downslide A constant misguide Breadcrumbs that fall down the blood flooded floor Shall feed us a rage Mountains of self despair Often viewed as seas of hate Crumble down to vipers’ lair Feeding those who're born too late A common pain for us to bear Aching chest and empty stares For it’s too late Hundreds of winters of snowless downslide A constant misguide Breadcrumbs that fall down the blood flooded floor Shall feed us a rage Falsely written False be reading Face of our master Witness disaster Wisdom of the war
9.
Star Veins 10:06
Lost Amidst the seas We carry onwards to far broken dreams Separate the water from the night Higher Above the mind Wisdom of searcher is yearning to find Reason for to cancel years of denial A mouthful of lies A handful of tries Crust Breaking with ease Once we hear then we see Reaping from the light of stars in veins Cast Bequeathings unknown As above, so below Roaming through the vastness of ravaged plains Mouthful of lies A handful of tries Mouthful of cries A soulful of bile Star veins scarred Never Forget the years Nor what it is what constantly nears Reason for the brother to breathe is to conquer

"A Call to Love continues to play out in this somewhat unexpected stylistic blend, keeping one foot in ambience with cuts like “Dune Messiah” and “Hope County” and the other foot on your throat with the opening title-track." – The Obelisk

"Ich sage es euch: Der Gitarrensound auf "A Call To Love" ist hart! Kinder, einen solchen Krawall hab ich gitarrenseitig schon ewig nicht mehr gehört. So geht Metal. Dazu das brutale Gekrächze und schon haben wir ein Album, welches gewaltig an den Nerven zerrt." – Stormbringer Magazine

"The music is hammering and jolting, with a kind of off-kilter momentum and surprising bursts of blaring, pulsating, and skittering fretwork. The music is discordant and deranged, but riveting in its multitude of changes. It bludgeons with cold cruelty, slithers like a reptile, introduces psychedelic properties, and convulses in mad spasms. The rhythm section turns in a gripping performance to go along with all the thrilling, sharply executed fretwork, and the vocals are ferocious." – NO CLEAN SINGING

"If you're a big sludge fan this album might come as a shock, but then again it also might give you some fresh ideas. And if you're alergic to most sludge bands, you might find this one fascinating because it's not that repetitive or just one-trick-pony, but something constantly in shift." – Rauta

"Eine schier unglaubliche Energie flutet aus den Boxen, irgendwo zwischen Progressive Metal und Sludge, dass hierbei einiges fachmännisch, wie desgleichen technisch raffiniert umgesetzt wurde, steht für das Songwriting der Truppe. Unbeirrt bohrt sich der Sound der Formation in den Gehörgang dieser Genrenischenfans und dieser wird heftig fortgeführt." – Metalunderground Magazine
